There are multiple artists with this name. 1) Vajra is a New York City based band. The band was formed by composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist, Annamaria Pinna during her self-imposed exile in India. The debut album “Pleroma” was released on the Summer Solstice of 2012. "Pleroma" is an exploration in paradox (East vs West, soft vs pummelling, female vs male) and includes appearances by Blake Fleming (ex-The Mars Volta) on drums, Doug Wright (The Dirty Pearls) on bass and Will Dahl (ex-Harley’s War) on guitar.Vajra’s music is hauntingly dark and hypnotic weaving Eastern Indian themes with melodic, progressive rock creating foreboding and mysterious lullabies. Sylvia Massy (Tool, System of A Down, Prince, Johnny Cash) co-produced the vocals and mixed. Tom Baker (NIN, Foo Fighters, Ministry, Prince) mastered. 2) Vajra, aka 跋折羅 or バサラ (Basara), is a trio made up of Kan Mikami (vocals, guitar), Keiji Haino (vocals, guitar) and Toshiaki Ishizuka (percussion). they have released 5 albums and one MCD on www.psfrecords.com. 3) VAJRA (Pronounce BAJRA) is a new metal band formed in 2009 in Japan, and signed by Death Trap Records (SPEED-DISK). The band has five members: Nobro (vocals), 『L.』 (guitar), 如月悠里 (guitar), 希ユキ (bass) and Rohan (drums). The group disbanded in January 2011. They released their 1st single "THE RISING SUN" on November 25th, 2009.
